"Dana, I Need To Know" Newsletter

Vol. 1 No. 2

Dear Dana,

My husband has been looking for a weight loss program. He is 50 lbs. overweight. He was watching a daytime TV program about the diet plans that work, and those popular one's that don't. They talked about one where they cut out almost all grains, and it caused great weight loss. She lost 180 lbs., but because of the great weight loss, or should I say how she lost it, she had to have surgery to remove the excess skin that sagged. I have your book and on page 179 of the Lean and Free 2000 Plus book it talks about a woman who lost 160 lbs.......what I would like to know is if the woman or other's like her who lose an enormous amount of weight have excess/hanging skin. I want my husband to use this program, and he might if he could get some reassurance that his skin won't become flabby loose once he loses the weight.

Sincerely,
Hopeful

Dear Hopeful

The woman you refer to that lost 160 lbs. needed NO excess skin removal. I believe Janelle actually lost 165 lbs. from 325 to 160 from a size 52 to a size 10! There's a key, she didn't lose the lean weight. She actually increased it (bone, muscle and water weight). She also increased the youthful "cushion" in her skin while she decreased her body size. Janelle's body composition is approximately 137 lbs. of lean weight and 23 lbs. of fat weight. At 5'8" tall, that puts her at 14.4%. That is why she's a size 10 at 160 when most 5'8" medium framed women would need to weigh 130 to 140 to wear a size 10 and they may start to look like "skinny little old ladies" at about the age of 35 or 40. Weighing more at the ideal size and body fat level because of higher bone, muscle and hydration weight may be natures best kept beauty secret. You only achieve it by following correct moderate nutrition and exercise habits with NO extremes involved.

Good Luck, Hopeful

Sincerely
Dana Thornock
